Wind Energy is one of the cleanest and most globally distributed forms of energy. Wind turbines convert the wind energy into clean electricity. Small wind turbines are widely used in domestic homes and are useful in generating electricity for small, light loads. By creating wind farms with large wind turbines, enough power can be produced to be fed back into the grid.

Although not all sites are convenient for wind generation. There are certain factors that will influence the implementation of wind farms such as, agriculture or settlements. The amount of consistent wind for the area. The distance the power has to travel to consumers and the transmission technology involved. It is essential in most cases for the land to have an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) performed in order to have permission granted to build a wind or solar farm.

When considering wind generation we need to take into account the amount of wind energy that can be generated by each Turbine as the size, height, type and location are all very important. Turbine Towers can be Free Standing or Guy Wired. You will need to accompany your turbine with a Wind Controller, Inverter and possibly a Grid-Tie Contoller. A Dump Loader is also recommended for the excess power to be off loaded.
